The insurer and children’s health system split Oct. 31. The two sides reached an agreement after five weeks of negotiations, according to a Feb. 8 statement from Arizona Blue.
“We are delighted that the dedicated doctors and care teams at Phoenix Children’s can continue to provide excellent care for AZ Blue members,” the insurer said.
Any claims processed while Phoenix Children’s was out of network will be processed as in-network, according to Arizona Blue.
“We recognize this has been a difficult time for families navigating out-of-network coverage options,” Phoenix Children’s CEO Robert Meyer said in a Feb. 8 statement. “As with previous contract discussions, Phoenix Children’s has been working diligently on behalf of our patients to ensure agreements with insurance providers serve the needs of our growing community, and we had to get it right.”
