Former Humana CEO joins venture capital firm

Define Ventures, a venture capital firm focused on early-state health tech companies, has named former Humana president and CEO Bruce Broussard as venture partner.

Mr. Broussard will partner closely with Define founders to scale their business and become "category-defining companies," according to an Oct. 22 news release from the firm.

Define Ventures has $800 million in assets under management and partners with companies at the seed, series A and series B stages, according to the release.

Mr. Broussard first announced in October 2023 that he would step down from his role as Humana CEO on July 1. He was succeeded by Jim Rechtin, who joined Humana as chief operating officer in January after serving as CEO of Nashville, Tenn.-based Envision Healthcare since 2020.
