Lumeris, a St. Louis-based managed services provider, has named Umar Farooq as president of its Medicare Advantage plan, Essence Healthcare.
Previously, Mr. Farooq was general manager and market president at Commonwealth Care Alliance of Boston and was a vice president at Centene, according to a Sept. 20 news release.
The Essence plan is one of the nation’s top-rated MA plans. In 2022, it received five stars for its Missouri-Illinois plan and was named one of the top MA plans in Missouri by the NCQA.
