5 things to know about Cigna Healthcare's new CEO

The Cigna Group recently named Brain Evanko president and CEO of Cigna Healthcare. 

Here are five things to know about the new leader of the company's insurance business:

1. Mr. Evanko has worked at Cigna since 1998. 

2. His roles have included business financial officer for the company's Hong Kong- and Singapore-based global individual health, life, and accident operations. 

3. He has been the Cigna Group's CFO since 2021 and will continue in that role while serving as Cigna Healthcare CEO. 

4. He graduated from State College-based Pennsylvania State University in 1998 with a bachelor's degree in actuarial science. He holds the Fellow of the Society of Actuaries, Member of the American Academy of Actuaries and Chartered Financial Analyst designations. 

5. Mr. Evanko's appointment as Cigna Healthcare CEO came along with several other executive moves. U.S. Commercial President Mike Triplett will retire by the end of 2024 and will be succeeded by Bryan Holgerson. Evernorth Health Services President and CEO Eric Palmer will take on the additional role of executive vice president for enterprise strategy for the Cigna Group. Ann Dennison is joining the Cigna Group as deputy CFO.
