UnitedHealthcare's regional CEOs are responsible for employer and individual plan operations across large geographies and usually have extensive experience with the company. 

Meet UnitedHealth's commercial CEOs for every state:

Arizona and New Mexico
Heather Kane has been CEO of the company's business in the two states since 2019. She previously was CEO of the payer's dental division and has been with the company since 2003.

Alaska, Hawaii, Oregon, Montana and Washington
Gary Daniels has been CEO of the company's Pacific Northwest region since 2020. He was a regional growth officer previously and has been with the company since 2010.

Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi and southwest Virginia
Stephen Wilson, Jr. has been CEO for the company's employer and individual business in its mid-south region since 2019. He has been with the company since 2007.

Alabama and Georgia
Bryan Palmer has been CEO of the company's business in the two states since 2023. He most recently served as growth officer in the company's southeast region and has been with UnitedHealth since 2002.

California
Steve Cain has been CEO of the market since 2022 after previously leading the company's northern California business. He has been with UnitedHealth since 2007. Tami Adams serves as CEO of the company's southern California operations and has been with the payer since 2006.
