Centene completes sale of another subsidiary

Centene has completed the sale of Collaborative Health Systems to Astrana Health.

Tampa, Fla.-based Collaborative Health Systems is a management services subsidiary that partners with independent primary care physicians around value-based care models, according to an Oct. 7 Astrana news release. It currently works with 129,000 beneficiaries across 17 states.

Alhambra, Calif.-based Astrana offers technology solutions that enable providers to participate in value-based arrangements. Formerly ApolloMed, the company works with 12,000 providers and 1 million patients.

Centene CEO Sarah London has overseen the divestiture of several non-core businesses since taking over the role in March 2022. She told Fortune in June 2023 that the businesses that have been sold were keeping Centene from being as focused and efficient as it could be.
