These transitions often require significant resources to add or upgrade EHRs, billing systems, virtual care and other practice capabilities, according to an April 25 Blue Cross Blue Shield news release. Honest Medical Group will provide the financial and human resources backing to assist practices during the transformation.

Honest Medical Group was created specifically to improve the care experience and reduce costs for people with Medicare, according to the news release.

The partnership enables physicians to be successful as Blue Cross and other private and government health plans accelerate the transition to more comprehensive value-based payment models, according to the news release.

At the Becker's 5th Annual Fall Payer Issues Roundtable, taking place November 2–3 in Chicago, payer executives and healthcare leaders will come together to discuss value-based care, regulatory changes, cost management strategies and innovations shaping the future of payer-provider collaboration.
