Second Minnesota insurer to cap members' monthly insulin costs at $25

UCare, a health insurer based in Minneapolis, will implement a $25 monthly spending cap on insulin next year, according to the StarTribune. It is the second insurer in the state to add a price cap for its members.

Individual and family plan members who have diabetes are eligible to have their out-of-pocket insulin expenses capped. The cap goes into effect Jan. 1.

Last week, Minnesota-based Medica announced plans to cap the monthly cost of insulin for its Minnesota members at $25 on Jan. 1.
