Hazel Health works with school districts to provide mental telehealth services to students. The service is available to more than 3 million children, according to the company’s website.

With UnitedHealthcare, Hazel Health recently launched in Iowa, according to a blog post by Krista Nelson, CEO of UnitedHealthcare Community and State. The services will roll out to up to 14 states by 2025.

A study conducted by researchers at Clemson University found that 75% of students experienced a reduction in depression and anxiety symptoms after completing Hazel Health’s online therapy program.

Other payers have backed Hazel Health. In 2023, Los Angeles County, L.A. Care Health Plan and Centene’s Health Net provided Hazel Health services to 1.3 million students in Los Angeles County schools.
